Piton Lager (7.3/10)
Derek 9 This is a St Lucian beer that I found on my honeymoon. Actually it's not really hard to find - it's everywhere in St Lucia. Piton Lager is named after the Piton Mountains - the famous island landmark. My high rating is probably mostly due to the fact that I was drinking it in the southern caribbean... But you'd rate it high if you got to drink it in out of the tap laying on a beach in St Lucia too. If I ever see a Piton anywhere, I would reach for that beer far before anything else simply for the memories and its rarity. For reference... I heard other people on the island say it reminds them of Heineken, others said corona and even ordered it with a lime.
Nehru 6.5 This beer was very tropical, it would have been a 10 if I had drank it in St. Lucia.
Nick 6.5 This was a pretty good beer that derek was thoughtful enough to bring back from his honeymoon for me and r00 to try <3...i really wanted to like it more, i'm just not a lager fan generally, and sitting in derek's kitchen was not the optimal place to enjoy this beer...

8.5 I've been to St. Lucia twice, and this beer was an important part of the experience each time. A friend brought me one that I am enjoying this moment. It's like a memory in a bottle. St Lucia is an excellent travel destination. They also brew Guiness and Heinekin on the island. Beer was under $2 a bottle in the bar. It is also ok to drink in public and as a passenger in a car. I enjoyed St Lucia and recommend it as the best place to enjoy Piton.

9 Having spent 16 months in Saint Lucia as a medical student, I can still remember those Friday evenings after a long week of classes, walking home and knowing you were going to get at least one night off to relax with your friends and drink those marvelous Pitons.
I still have so many wonderful souvenirs of that tropical beer including 2 full bottles, beach towel, actual Piton drinking glasses, T shirts, and even a Piton ashtray.
Those were great days...

8 On the basis that an 8 out of 10 is a very rare and excellent mark to award, I would award Piton beer an 8 out of 10. Even after a heavy defeat in a cricket match to a mediocre antipodean side, this beer will restore your 'bounce' and make you think you can 'walk on water' - not literally though!

9.5 Who knew so many people honeymooned in St. Lucia? The taxi stopped on the long ride south to our Jalousie resort and the cabbie popped one of these into my hands. One drink and I was sold. May be the best beer I've ever had. I want more, lemme know if it ever becomes available in the US.

9.5 I agree with Derek at the top of the page. This beer was fantastic but the best part was that I was drinking it in St. Lucia, on the beach, on my honeymoon. Nothing could have been better. Oh yea and it was all included in the price of the honeymoon so I could have 1 or 101 it didn't matter. I think one day I might have gotten close to 101. I wish they sold it in the US. Drinking it would bring back some fantastic memories! If anyone ever finds a place that sells it on the east coast, please let us know!

9.5 I left something out of my last note. My husband and I took four bottles of Piton from St. Lucia back to NY (Long Island). We each had one when we first got back to NY and then waited ONE YEAR to have the other two. We waited unitl our one year anniversary to have the other two. We kept them cold the WHOLE year, ever when we moved apartments. We had a cooler when we moved just to keep it cold. Then on our i year anniversary we had our cake (from the wedding) and our two Pitons. Although they were slightly skunked, they still tasted AWESOME and the memories were worth the year of longing for the beer. Again, if anyone knows where we can get Pitons in NY or in NC please let me know ([email protected]). THANKS!

9 Just came back from St. Lucia last week for my honeymoon. Piton-I think of the friendly people, banana trees, coconut trees, Sandals Grande, beautiful mountains, crystal clear water, powerful sun, tropical climate, white puffy clouds...all that in a bottle of beer...doesn't get any better than that!

9 As many of the reviewers have noted, I think the 'essence' of Piton goes beyond the taste and body of the beer, and extends to the setting in which would enjoy a Piton.. I've done my research and you can not buy Piton anywhere in the States.. I did that research upon returning from Anse Chastanet on the SW coast of STL in the summer of 2006.. That may no longer be true. My wife and I expected a week of knocking back Red Stripe and Carib(e?) on our honeymoon. Curious upon seeing a bottle of Piton in our first trip to the bar at Anse Chastanet, we knocked back the local brew and decided to never turn back for the remainder of our trip.. Cool, crisp, with a light-bodied flavor of any golden pilsner (I don't know if it is technichally a Pilsner, it did remind me of one though!), Piton is a great beer to indulge in when visiting STL. My wife and I must've knocked back 6-10 per day each the entire week we were there.. May I suggest to anyone who takes a liking to Piton, since you won't be finding it stateside, fill up an empty bottle with beautiful black volcanic sand for a memento of STL and their fine native beer..

9 I just returned home from my second trip to St. Lucia. We went for our honeymoon and I fell in love with Piton. When the wife mentioned returning for our second anniversary I was more than willing just for the piton beer. I'm now trying to persuade her into one more anniversary in St. Lucia for the Piton. She's worried I may just trade her to a local for a keg of piton to bring home

9 We came back from STL two weeks ago with a six pack of Piton in our luggage. One bottle left and the empties are on top of the fridge in the Piton carton. Now if that is not torture I don't know what is? Anyone notice the bottles are smaller than a US beer? Maybe that is why you can guzzle 5-10 a day and have the flavor last. Someone should import this beer to the states. There is a fortune to be made. Going back to STL for our honeymoon in June or maybe it's for the Piton. True Love.
