9 | Pilsner Urquell is one of my top 5 beers! The reason why some of you think it taste like ass, is becasue your not used to its complex finish. Instead your used to wasting your money on cheap American beer that is highly mass produced and lack any substance or flavor. The irony of all this is that many of America's first beers are based on Pilsner Urquell. The only problem is they did a horrible job replicating Pilsner Urquell. In my mind, American beer is piss mixed with water. There are some exceptions, we Americans do have amazing micro-breweries like Magic Hat and Stoudts. Sam Adams in my opinion is the best mass producer of American beer. One of my favorite slogans, comes from Warsteiner, a German beer that says, "Life is too short to drink cheap beer." |

5.5 | I had this again last night and would rate it a bit higher. It wasn't as bad as a 3, but it's definitely not awesome. Last night I noticed it's a fairly smooth beer with a slight hop/bitter taste at the end. It was also better served in my pint glass - especially as it got warmer. And to all the people calling us inexperienced, we're slightly more experienced than others. not only have we tried, rated, and documented over 100 beers a piece... half of us brew beer ourselves, while the other half drinks our homebrew, haha. Also, check out other high volume beer rating sites with professional reviews. Pilsner Urquell may be dubbed "the original pilsner" but it's still not rated highly by most. |

8.5 | If you evaluate this beer and many like, being fresh is really important consideration in the evaluation. I love PU but if its not fresh I will make you say "PU" Too often liquer stores and bars have ancient bottles of this stuff. If it old it tastes like crap. Only the beer snobs know to buy it, so it says on the shelves a long time. Then somebody drops $8-9 on six pack for old shitty beer. Who wouldn't be pissed off? I have had my share of good beer only to be disappointed later. Be careful where you buy your beer. |

9 | Pilsners are supposed to be bitter and hoppy...anyone used to drinking mass produced American piss beverages (I find it sacreligious to refer to any of these as beer) has never tasted hops before and find the strong hop character of good pilsners to be harsh and skunky. What a pitty. |
