6.5 | First time I had this stuff was in some corner bar in France with a cute bartender who spoke English. They had it on tap, and I liked it. I bought some in the US, bottled in those little grenades, and it was skunky disgusting.. |

8 | A good everyday/anytime beer that's not overpowering, not too bitter or sweet, just about right. I like the little painted bottles too as they just fit your hand right. A great benefit is that it's only $5.94 for a six pack of 12 oz. bottles at Wal-Mart. |

8 | One of those beers that you can drink... and continue to drink all day & night. It has a solid malty flavor that's balanced with hops that pleasantly linger at the sides of the mouth. Not too sweet and light-bodied enough not to make you feel full. Less than 5% alcohol, so you won't get sloppy while enjoying this fine beverage. |

I heard that Red Stripe was started in Galena, Illinois and then moved to Jamaica. How would I find out more info on this or if it is even true? Thanks..Mary |

4 | I bought this thinking it was a premium beer, seems I was wrong. I'd rather drink Natural light which is like saying I'd rather drink piss water. It's all marketing hype, that's it. Cool bottle, it's an image, a lot like corona which also sucks. |

9 | I have visited Jamaica three times. Love the Red Stripe. Just visited Galena, Illinos. They do claim Red Stripe originated there. |

9 | Its True - Red Stripe beer originated in Galena, IL in the 1830s. Once the recipe of the Fulton Brewery, Galena, IL was home to the beer up until prohibition. At that time the owners of the Galena Brewing Co sold the recipe to two British guys who took it to Jamaica. |
